What Are We?

What if God does not exist — then life is its own reason, its own purpose, is it not?

Man lives, acts, creates, and yes, kills, destroys. Mankind however, can, over time, influence and adapt the conditions of its survival to itself. The Balance of Nature in this world is our stock. Man can through his acts, preserve this stock and increase Nature’s stock, there by preserving this Balance and increasing his own, for all of Mankind.

What of animals? Animals must adapt themselves to their conditions to survive, kill to eat and survive. The animal kingdom is faultless, as this is their Nature, it is their stock. Mankind is not bound to this necessity. Not having to resort to the necessity of animals them, which to survive must kill, what is to be said of Mankind when he does also?

What are we then, if God does exist?
